Compass has announced plans to acquire Anywhere Real Estate, creating one of the largest residential brokerages in the country.

If approved, this all-stock transaction would bring powerhouse brands like Coldwell Banker, Sotheby’s, and others under the Compass roof, representing more than 340,000 agents and roughly 25% of U.S. residential sales.

What Does This Mean for Bay Area Buyers and Sellers?

Will the signs on the lawn change? Probably not. But behind the scenes, this scale is unprecedented.
